A girl proposed to her military boyfriend and married him in the intensive care unit.

In 2023, Ukrainian serviceman Mykhailo Hurzhiy sustained a serious injury to his cervical spine, resulting in paralysis and loss of speech. His girlfriend Daryna came to the hospital where she asked for Mykhailo's hand, and despite his critical condition, they entered into a marriage agreement right in the hospital. Since then, they have been spending a lot of Time together during rehabilitation at the 'Modrychi' center.
Mykhailo acknowledges that living with a paralyzed body is a challenge, but he draws inspiration from his wife and hopes for further improvement in his condition. Daryna confirms that Mykhailo has shown significant improvements in his health: he can stand on exercise machines, work on a computer, hold a phone, and even eat by himself. He also takes on the promise to fulfill the dreams of his fallen comrades.
“My friend always dreamed of digging and launching crayfish. I promised his sister that I would fulfill this dream when Mykhailo can walk,” Daryna shared.
During the rehabilitation process, Mykhailo and Daryna held their wedding, and now they continue to fight for the health of the veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, Pavlo, a captain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about his love at a NATO base and his work on the front line after being awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
