For the military in Ukraine, the rules for registering volunteer vehicles have changed.

The Government of Ukraine introduces a mechanism for the temporary state registration of vehicles that military personnel receive as humanitarian aid for the defense of the state.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the relevant resolution on October 29, 2024.
Now military personnel can register such transport in their name and use it until the end of martial law and for three months after its termination. This will help resolve several problematic issues faced by the military receiving such vehicles, in particular, regulating the procedure for ownership, travel abroad, and transferring the car to comrades.
To register transport, a serviceman must submit an application to the service center, documents proving identity and military service, a receipt-transfer act, and a printed electronic declaration within 10 days from the signing of the receipt-transfer act.
Vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Military personnel who received transport as humanitarian aid before December 2023 have the opportunity to register it within the next three months. The registration procedure for transport received before December 2023 will be determined additionally.
Temporary transport registration is terminated in cases of vehicle destruction, death, dismissal, or other circumstances related to military service. In such cases, registration can be renewed upon the application of one of the servicemen mentioned in the act.
