"Environmental" fines from 850 to 1700 hryvnias: drivers reminded about popular violation.

In Ukraine, new rules regarding washing and repairing cars on the streets have been introduced.
Such actions are now prohibited and entail fines from 850 to 1700 hryvnias. This was reported by Informator with reference to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
According to the new bill, car washing and repairs can only be conducted at specialized service stations (СТО) or on private territories.
The main goal of these restrictions is to protect the environment from pollution by chemical substances, such as oils and technical fluids, that can enter the soil and water.
Particularly strict rules apply in protected areas. However, the bill provides exceptions: temporary repairs on the road are allowed in the case of an emergency situation.
In addition to environmental considerations, the new rules are aimed at maintaining the aesthetic appearance of urban areas and reducing inconveniences for residents. All car servicing work must be performed only in specially designated areas.
Recently, drivers were reminded of the conditions and costs of storing number plates with the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Ukrainians were also reminded about fines for frequent violations: both the driver and the passenger can be penalized for this.
