Lyubenovych was suddenly dismissed from Vorskla - what happened.


The Poltava team 'Vorskla' terminated the contract with head coach Zeljko Lyubenovych. Lyubenovych had only been in charge for a month, but was already dismissed. He has already said goodbye to the players, and the new coach is expected to be presented tomorrow, journalist Igor Bubras reported on his Telegram channel.
Probably, the reason for the dismissal was financial problems and a crisis situation in the club, which recently relegated from the UPL. The team's debt reached 3 million euros, which caused three transfer bans from FIFA. Under such conditions, a coach replacement became necessary.

Serbian coach Zeljko Lyubenovych previously played for 'Partizan' and 'Tavriya', and after his playing career, he coached teams such as 'Minai' and 'Inhulets'. On June 3, 2025, he accepted an offer from 'Vorskla' with the aim of returning the team to the UPL, but the circumstances did not turn out very well.
