In December 2024, student mobilization in Ukraine will have several important features according to bill №10449.

The recruitment campaign has practically not changed since November and continues to apply clear criteria for military service liable men.

Students who are obtaining their first higher education in full-Time or dual education formats still receive a deferral from mobilization. Postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, and assistant trainees will also not be drafted.

However, there are exceptions when students may be called up. This concerns those who study in evening or part-time formats, are obtaining a second or third higher education, do not undergo general military training, or have a lower educational status document.

Currently, the issue of mobilizing students older than 30 years is not being considered. Men who have received their first higher education and have reached the age of thirty continue to be protected from conscription.

Earlier, it was reported that the Ministry of Education and Science found over 20 thousand pseudo-students: those who are not studying in higher educational institutions.
