The semifinals of the European cups will begin with a moment of silence in honor of the Pope.

UEFA reports that the semifinals of the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League will start with a moment of silence in honor of the late Pope Francis. This will be a tribute to the Pope's memory before the matches that will take place from April 29 to May 1. In the first matches of the Champions League semifinals, 'Arsenal' will play against 'PSG' and 'Barcelona' will face 'Inter'.
The Pope passed away at the age of 88. He had suffered from a stroke and chronic illnesses. After two months of treatment in the hospital, he was discharged, but he experienced four more respiratory crises. According to the Pope's will, he will be buried in the Roman basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. St. Peter's Basilica is open for farewell to the body of Pope Francis until April 26, after which, cardinals will hold a conclave in the Sistine Chapel to elect a new head of the Catholic Church. The mourning ceremony will last from April 26 to May 4, and St. Peter's Basilica will hold daily prayer services. The Pope's funeral will take place on April 26 at 10:00 AM and will be led by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re.
