Poltava said goodbye to a soldier and a police officer who tragically died in a traffic accident.


Farewell to the fallen heroes
In Poltava, on May 5, a farewell ceremony was held at the Holy Assumption Cathedral for soldier Viktor Borovko and police patrol officer Anatoliy Ilyashenko, who died in a traffic accident while on duty. This was reported by 'Glavcom' referring to 'Suspilne Poltava'.
Viktor Borovko was born on February 28, 1989, in the village of Horbanivka, Poltava district. He completed his mandatory service in the Special Operations Regiment of the President of Ukraine and took part in the ATO. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he participated in battles for Avdiivka, Kam'yanka, and Verkhnotoretsk. After suffering a concussion, he was transferred to the TCK and SP in Poltava.
'As a veteran, he understood the importance of military-patriotic education for youth - he founded and became the head of the military-patriotic club 'Shturm - 2', and was also one of the organizers of the camp 'Dibrova'. In 2022, he returned to the army - to the ranks of his native 25th brigade', - states the post from TCK and SP.
During the same accident, patrol officer Anatoliy Ilyashenko was killed.
Anatoliy Ilyashenko 'served the Ukrainian people with dignity. He was sincere, kind, devoted to his work. Always with an open heart and readiness to help. He left behind parents who will no longer wait for him to come home', - it was stated on the Poltava region police page.
We remind you that on May 2, as a result of a traffic accident on the highway near Poltava, sergeant Viktor Borovko and patrol officer Anatoliy Ilyashenko were killed.
These events are tragic and sensitive for society, the loss of two people devoted to their work will leave a painful mark in the hearts of their relatives, friends, and colleagues of the deceased.
