Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky held a meeting on strengthening air defense
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky held a meeting with the heads of directions and tasked them with strengthening air defense. He reported this on Facebook.
“Listened to the reports of the acting commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the commanders of air defense forces, army aviation of the Ground Forces, unmanned systems forces, as well as the head of the Main Directorate of Electronic Warfare and Cyber Warfare of the General Staff. Determined specific steps to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian sky. The heads of directions received tasks with clear deadlines for carrying out the respective measures,” Syrsky wrote.
Also, meeting participants discussed the implementation of innovations and developments of the Ukrainian defense complex.
The Air Forces are implementing automated systems
“Yes, the command organs of air commands have started actively implementing automation systems, which will significantly increase the efficiency of destroying airborne enemies,” reported the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
The air forces are also receiving electronic warfare systems for protection against air strikes.
Participants of the meeting also discussed the use of interceptor drones and the provision of air defense coverage for critical infrastructure facilities.
“The head of the department of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on the enemy's capabilities to conduct missile and air strikes on critical infrastructure facilities of our state and to forecast its further actions in the airspace,” Syrsky wrote.
“With the participation of the Director of the Department for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure of the State Special Communications Service, they thoroughly analyzed the implementation of plans for the protection of critical infrastructure facilities and clarified the order of further joint actions for the winter period,” he added.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to purchase electronic warfare equipment to protect critical infrastructure facilities from Russian attacks.
