Ukrainians' parcels can be confiscated: how to avoid losing your desired goods.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has signed a law amending the Customs Code. The main changes concern increasing administrative responsibility for violations of customs regulations. Now violators who provide false information about goods in customs declarations will face fines ranging from 30% to 50% of the value of the goods.
Amendments have also been made to Section 473 of the Customs Code regarding vehicles returned to owners after customs proceedings. Now, owners have 10 days after receiving their vehicles to remove them from the customs territory of Ukraine or place them under another customs regime.
Failure to comply with this obligation may result in fines ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or even confiscation of vehicles. The new provisions of the law also take humanitarian aspects into account, in particular, stating that individuals who have not reached the age of 16 at the Time of the offense cannot be prosecuted.
In cases where there is no basis for initiating a case or the time limits for bringing to responsibility have expired, the case may be closed. The new rules will simplify the procedure for considering cases of violations of customs regulations and will help avoid excessive administrative pressure on citizens.
The Code mentions strengthening administrative responsibility for customs violations, introducing fines and confiscation in case of non-fulfillment of duties, as well as simplifying procedures and avoiding excessive administrative pressure on citizens.Read also
