Caught under mortar fire during the evacuation of a comrade. Let's remember Ivan Lunev.

Ivan Lunev - a hero who sacrificed for Ukraine
Every day at 9 o'clock Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives have been taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Ivan Lunev.
Ivan Lunev was a true patriot who dedicated his life to defending his homeland. Despite his youth, he was brave and willing to make the highest sacrifice. He was always there for his comrades, strongly supporting them. Ivan died defending his partners from danger. This important story was spread by
"Glavkom", referring to information from the Chernivtsi City Council.
Ivan Volodymyrovych Lunev was born on February 15, 2000, in the village of Kruhlyk in the Khotyn region. In childhood, he faced difficulties - his parents divorced, his mother passed away, and he was taken under the care of his older brother afterward. However, even in challenging circumstances, Ivan always remained cheerful and vivacious, and he was always proud of his courage. He had many plans for the future, but the dreadful war interrupted their realization.
After the war began in full force, Ivan and his brother Ruslan were mobilized. Although they ended up in different military units, they always kept in touch with each other.
On September 28, 2024, Ivan Lunev, along with a group, set out to evacuate the wounded. He was pulling a fighter out when they were hit by mortar fire. They could not recover the bodies at that Time due to heavy shelling, so Ivan was considered missing for almost two months.
Tragically, Ivan Lunev did not return from this mission. His body was found later, but his feat will always remain in the memory of all Ukrainians who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. Rest in peace, hero.
