The human rights activist explained that it indicates the horrific losses in Mariupol.

The scale of the tragedy in Mariupol, particularly concerning the child population, surpasses all known figures to date. However, the true extent of losses among the child population of Ukraine can only be determined after the war ends.
In Mariupol, there may be a significantly higher number of casualties than previous estimates suggest
According to her, before the full-scale invasion, about 51 thousand children lived in Mariupol. Considering that the city has been destroyed by more than 90%, the actual number of deported and deceased children from this region could be significantly higher than the officially verified figure — 19,545.
'These are only the children from Mariupol, but we have established from various sources children from all occupied territories, or those that were occupied and then liberated. We can also roughly estimate the scale of the deaths of our children based on this child population size.'— said the human rights activist.
At the same Time, it is currently practically impossible to assess the scale of child fatalities.
It should be noted that Russians are constantly engaging in propaganda among children in the occupied territories.
At the end of May, it was reported that 10 thousand houses are planned to be demolished on one of the streets in Mariupol.
The number of child victims of war in Mariupol may be much higher than the officially reported figures due to the destruction of the city and the lack of information. Ukrainian human rights defenders confirm that the estimated data may significantly increase once a complete picture of events emerges after the conflict concludes.Read also
