MFA Spokesperson on FT Publication: Minister Sybiha Did Not Discuss Any Territorial Concessions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has firmly refuted the information published in the Financial Times article regarding Ukraine's readiness for compromises with Russia. MFA spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi stated that claims about Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha discussing any territorial concessions are false.
“I attended every meeting of Foreign Minister Sybiha in New York, and at none of them were there proposals, discussions, or even hints of any territorial compromises,” Tykhyi emphasized.
According to the spokesperson, Minister Sybiha's position on Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity remains unchanged. Tykhyi also emphasized that the Peace Formula proposed by Ukraine is the only realistic path to achieving peace.
Previously, the Financial Times published an article stating that Ukrainian officials have become more open to a possible ceasefire, even if Russian troops temporarily remain on occupied territories. It was also reported about the possibility of Ukraine's advancement to NATO membership by U.S. President Joe Biden.
The MFA of Ukraine categorically denies these statements, stressing the unchanging position on the country's territorial integrity and the necessity of adhering to the principle of "Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine" in any negotiations.
