Russian Gas: 'Turkish Stream' Reaches 100 Billion Cubic Meters.
The 'Turkish Stream' pipeline has transported 104.2 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey and European countries over five years of operation.
According to Hürriyet Daily News, from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2024, about 44.4 billion cubic meters of gas has arrived in Turkey through this pipeline, and 59.8 billion cubic meters to Europe.
After the closure of the 'Nord Stream-1', 'Nord Stream-2', and 'Yamal-Europe' pipelines, which supplied gas from Russia to Europe, and the cessation of gas deliveries through Ukraine, the 'Turkish Stream' becomes the only transit route for Russian gas to Europe.
The 'Turkish Stream' pipeline consists of two marine 'threads' each 930 kilometers long and two land lines of 142 and 70 kilometers, respectively. It stretches from Anapa in Russia to Kiyikoy on the Turkish coast. The pipeline was completed by the end of 2019 and officially opened on January 8, 2020.
The total capacity of the pipeline is 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas, evenly distributed between the two threads. The first thread supplies gas to Turkey, while the second delivers it to Europe, from Kiyikoy to Bulgaria.
