A village in Ternopil region set an unusual record to help the army.


In the village of Nahiryanka in the Ternopil region, an unusual record was set - they collected 21,897 hryvnias with one-hryvnia coins. In this way, they aimed to help the army. This was reported by the head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine, Lana Vetrova, on Facebook.
«We had to start the counting procedure twice, as children with coins kept coming from all sides - some held money in their fists, some brought it in a box from their mom's cream, and even in a Coca-Cola bottle, so we barely shook them out. In total, we counted 21,897 hryvnias of both yellow and white coins. The record of Ukraine «The largest number of coins with a denomination of 1 hryvnia for the help of the Armed Forces of Ukraine» the community dedicated to the memory of their fellow villager, 24-year-old warrior Volodymyr Klyashtoforskyi, who, to our great regret, died in battle in the Luhansk region on the eve of the record,» wrote Lana Vetrova.
Together, the coins weighed 72 kg 270 g.
Now the community has decided to collect a new donation - with 2-hryvnia coins. To buy a drone that will avenge their compatriot.
Previously, 100-year-old Heorhiy Chyzhevskyi from Voznesensk in the Mykolaiv region became the winner of the summer Ukrainian Swimming Championship among members of the "Masters" movement and set three world records in breaststroke distances.
Also, a 78-year-old Ukrainian became the absolute record holder among blood donors in Ukraine.
