Scandal with BMW: the company confirmed the delivery of cars to the Russian Federation despite sanctions.

The German automaker BMW reported that it discovered violations in the export of cars from its Hanover branch, which prevented their delivery to Russia.
These violations were detected through internal control, so the sale of vehicles was halted, - said BMW Group.
Additionally, the company decided to dismiss employees who are responsible for these violations.
It was noted that about 100 premium-class cars were delivered to Russian clients from BMW's Hanover branch.
Aggressive war against Ukraine led to sanctions against Russian trade
Due to the aggressive war against Ukraine, international trade with Russia is affected by various sanctions, including those imposed by the European Union. These sanctions restrict the supply of cars to Russian clients.
However, BMW claims that their cars are still being sold in Russia despite the sanctions. This is made possible through gray import. BMW Group is doing everything possible to prevent such imports by taking various measures.
Recall that at the end of September, German citizens were convicted for illegal export of cars to Russia. It has also been discovered earlier that German cars are being sold in Russia despite sanctions.
