Ukrainian politician killed in Spain
On Wednesday morning, May 21, a tragedy occurred in Spain - former advisor to Viktor Yanukovych Andriy Portnov was killed.
According to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, the politician was shot while taking his children to school in Madrid. He suffered multiple gunshots to the chest and one shot to the head.
Police were alerted about an injured person near the American school in Pozuelo de Alarcón around 9:15 AM. Upon the arrival of law enforcement and medical personnel, it became known that Andriy Portnov had died from multiple injuries.
Witnesses told police that the attacker waited on a motorcycle near the school gates, and when Portnov arrived, he opened fire on him and fled.
Sources of the publication do not rule out the version of settling personal scores by the murderer with Portnov.
It was also noted that Portnov was shot in the back, after which the attacker struck him on the head. Information about Portnov's death was also confirmed by a high-ranking source in 'Ukrainian Truth'.

For reference, Andriy Portnov worked in Viktor Yanukovych's government and was the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine since January 2014. His return to Ukraine in 2019 was marked by scandals and controversies over his activities.
Portnov has also been under sanctions from the United States since December 2021. He was accused of attempting to influence Ukraine's judiciary and engaging in corrupt schemes.
