In November 2024, Routledge will release the book 'Art in Ukraine between constructing identity and anti-colonial resistance'. This was announced by the book's editor Svitlana Bedareva.
The book will explore the development of Ukrainian art since 2004, starting from the Orange Revolution, the Revolution of Dignity of 2013-2014, and up to the current war of Russia against Ukraine.
The book will consist of three sections: 'Solidarity', 'Identity' and 'Decoloniality', in which key themes of Ukrainian art development in the context of historical, political, and cultural events will be investigated.
The authors of the book are Ksenia Nuril, Asia Bazdyreva, Jessica Zihovich, Oleksandra Osadcha, Alisa Lozhkina, Eva Sulek, Katerina Filyuk, Illya Levchenko, Katerina Botanova, and Svitlana Bedareva.
The foreword to the book was written by Vitaliy Chernetsky, and the cover features the work of Ukrainian artist Katerina Lysovenko.
