The Pentagon will provide Ukraine with $275 million in aid
The Biden administration has decided to provide Ukraine with a new aid package worth at least $275 million ahead of the inauguration of new President Donald Trump. This was reported on Tuesday by American officials.
The new aid package for Ukraine includes the supply of air defense systems, namely HIMARS artillery rocket systems, as well as 155mm and 105mm artillery shells, Javelin anti-tank munitions, and other equipment and spare parts.
The supply of weapons will be carried out under presidential powers to reduce armaments (PDA), which allows the Pentagon to obtain quick supplies from its warehouses to expedite delivery to the front line in Ukraine.
Information about the new aid package has not yet been disclosed; American officials have spoken about it openly, but on condition of anonymity.
Information about the ATACMS strike against the Russian Federation has also been confirmed. According to officials, Ukraine launched about eight missiles on Tuesday, of which two were intercepted. While damage is being assessed, it is known that the missiles hit an ammunition depot in Karachev, located in the Bryansk region.
