A hurricane is raging in the US, which has already killed one person and caused power outages.

A strong storm has hit the Northwest US
A strong storm has hit the Northwest US, causing powerful winds and heavy rain. About half a million homes have been left without power, and one person has died due to fallen trees. This information is reported by the Associated Press.
In the city of Lynnwood (Washington state), a woman died when a large tree fell on a homeless camp. In Seattle, a tree also fell on a car temporarily trapping a person inside. Thankfully, the victim is in stable condition. In Issaquah, a 70-year-old tree fell on a house where a woman lives. She stated that she initially thought the wall was collapsing.
The weather forecasting center warned of the risk of heavy precipitation on Friday. It was expected that northern California and southwestern Oregon would receive 30-40 centimeters of rain, with the peak of the storm occurring on Thursday.
The storm system has been classified as a 'bomb cyclone'
On Tuesday, the storm system was given the status of a 'bomb cyclone' due to rapid intensification. The strongest wind gusts were recorded in Canadian waters. The National Weather Service of the US warns West Coast residents of the danger of falling trees and urges to avoid being near windows and exterior walls.
This is already the fourth similar cyclone to occur in the US in recent months. The previous hurricane 'Milton' became the third fastest intensifying in Atlantic history, driven by global warming and additional heat from the Gulf of Mexico.
Earlier, hurricane watchers in the US warned of the approaching hurricane 'Patti', which is moving towards the Caribbean Sea and is likely to reach US territory.
