In Zaporizhzhia, the 'Tree of Memory' Memorial was Opened, Dedicated to Fallen Defenders.

In the park of Metallurgists named after V.A. Satskyi in Zaporizhzhia, the 'Tree of Memory' was opened, honoring the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine. This installation was created during the modern art festival 'Gogolfest. Pokrova', and its creation was fully financed by the company 'Metinvest'.
The nine-meter iron tree symbolizes the rooting of memory of the Ukrainian warriors who died for the freedom of Ukraine. On each branch of the tree, bells are placed that produce a melodic sound under the influence of the wind, symbolizing the voices of the fighters. Additionally, soft LED lines appeared, starting from the roots of the tree and stretching to its crown, where the names of the fallen warriors are inscribed.
The 'Tree of Memory' project has several implementation stages, including greening. In the future, it is planned to plant young plants that will entwine the iron elements and complement the memorial's image.
Before the installation of the memorial, public discussions and project presentations were held for the families of the fallen warriors, veteran organizations, and government representatives. The memorial complex represents the frontline positions where defenders died and is a symbol of the struggle and perseverance of Ukrainians for freedom.
The ceremonial opening of the memorial was attended by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov, acting head of Zaporizhzhia Regina Kharchenko, families of fallen heroes, veterans, and citizens.
It is also worth mentioning that for the Day of Memory of Defenders of Ukraine, the Group 'Metinvest' created an online memorial dedicated to warrior-employees who died during the war.
