Ukrainians are leaving Germany en masse: where are the refugees going.

Ukrainians in Germany lost their temporary protection status
As of July 2024, around 200,000 Ukrainians in Germany lost their temporary protection status, leading to a decrease in their total number from 1.37 million to 1.11 million people. This is evidenced by data from Eurostat.
According to experts, this decrease is due to several reasons. Some Ukrainians obtained another protection status, while others decided to leave Germany. Despite this, Germany remains the leader in receiving Ukrainian refugees worldwide.
Moreover, the distribution of Ukrainians in the EU has also changed. Currently, around 4.12 million Ukrainians have found refuge in European Union countries. After Germany, Poland has taken in the most Ukrainian refugees - 976,205 people, which makes up 23.7% of the total in Europe. The Czech Republic ranks third with 369,000 Ukrainians.
Interestingly, since the end of June 2024, there has been an increase in the number of Ukrainians in some countries. For example, Poland received an additional 10,430 people, the Czech Republic - 8,834, and Romania - 4,250.
Analysis shows that the majority of Ukrainian refugees are women (45.3%) and children (32.4%), while adult men make up 22.4%. Especially many Ukrainians live in the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Poland, where there are 26 to 33 recipients of temporary protection per thousand local residents.
It was also previously reported that the number of refugees in Germany reached a new maximum, exceeding the level recorded after the Second World War.
