Ukrainians overpay for eggs and sunflower oil: where is the cheapest.

Ukrainian food market: stable prices for eggs and oil
As of the end of May 2025, the Ukrainian food market is characterized by stability in prices for eggs and oil. An analysis of offerings from leading retail chains shows that prices fluctuate slightly between different points of sale under the same general pricing policy.
Chicken egg segment: competition among brands and packaging
In the C1 category chicken egg market, various packaging options are available. The most economical option is the 'Kvochka' packaging of 10 pieces, offered only at Auchan for 67.90 hryvnias (6.79 hryvnias per piece).
'Eggs of the 'Yasensvit' brand show interesting price dynamics. The packaging of 10 pieces costs an average of 73.53 hryvnias,' said a company representative.
A larger packaging of 18 pieces shows a more uniform pricing offer: Metro and Auchan have the same price of 123.90 hryvnias, while Novus has set a price of 124.00 hryvnias.
Quail eggs: stability in the niche segment
The quail egg market shows less price volatility. The packaging of 20 pieces costs an average of 65.05 hryvnias, with Auchan offering the best price (61.50 hryvnias).
Oil segment: brand competition
'The market for refined oil is represented by two main brands. Refined oil 'Oliina', with a volume of 850 ml, costs an average of 79.95 hryvnias,' specialists reported.
'The oil 'Shchedry Dar' of the same volume is slightly more expensive – averaging 80.66 hryvnias,' they added.
Dynamics compared to April
Compared to prices in April 2025, some products have become more expensive, for example, 'Kvochka' eggs, while others have remained stable.
Conclusions and trends
The results of the analysis indicate moderate competition among retail chains and stability in prices for basic food products. This opens up opportunities for consumers to choose the most advantageous offers.
