Ukrainian referee team to work at Faroe Islands - Armenia match
At the group stage match of the Nations League Faroe Islands – Armenia in quartet C4, which will take place on October 10 in Torshavn, a Ukrainian referee team will be working.
The main referee will be Oleksiy Derevinskyi. On the lines, he will be assisted by Semen Shlonchak and Viktor Matyash. The duties of the fourth referee will be performed by Vitaliy Romanov. The VAR system will be handled by Mykola Balakin and Denys Shurman.
Oleksiy Derevinskyi started officiating matches of Ukrainian First League teams in 2016. In 2020, he began working in the Ukrainian Premier League.
It's worth noting that the Armenia national team is coached by Ukrainian specialist Oleksandr Petrakov. After two rounds, the Armenians have one victory over Latvia (4:1) and one defeat against North Macedonia (0:2).
The Faroe Islands, in quartet C4, drew with North Macedonia (1:1) and lost to the Latvians (0:1).
Recall that the Ukrainian national team started the new season of the Nations League with an unfortunate home defeat against Albania. Despite territorial advantage and several dangerous moments at the opponent's goal, the «blue-yellows» conceded two goals in the second half and could not maintain the winning score, which was opened by Yukhym Konoplya.
Ukraine suffered their second defeat in the Nations League 2024/25 in an away match against the Czech Republic. Our national team lost with a score of 2:3.
