The GUR responded on how many convicted Russians have died in 4 months.

The Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation suffered losses of almost 28% among convicted Russians fighting against Ukraine during the first four months of 2025. Among the dead, there are many young people aged 18 to 19 years.
Losses of convicted Russians in the war against Ukraine
From July 2024 to April 2025, 14,560 individuals from among the convicted and those under investigation were called up for service in the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces. They signed contracts with the occupying army to avoid imprisonment and earn money.
According to the occupying forces, between January and April 2025, the losses among the newly arrived 'special contingent' amounted to at least 4,212 individuals — dead or missing, not including the wounded. This is over 28% of the total number. The Security Service of Ukraine also emphasized that among them there is a large number of individuals aged 18-19 years, with the youngest being Private Sergey Mikhailovich Saprykin, born in 2006.
'These facts are further evidence of the cynical policy of the Kremlin, which turns youth and marginalized groups into expendable material in the war against Ukraine', - the message states.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated how many occupiers were destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past six months. It is also known that a few days ago the Deputy Commander of the Russian Navy was eliminated in Kursk, but the circumstances of his death remain unclear.
Summary
In the first months of 2025, the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation experienced losses of almost 28% among convicted Russians fighting against Ukraine, including many young people among them. These data reflect the brutality of the conflict in Donbass and indicate the ruthless policy of the Kremlin towards the most vulnerable categories of the population.
