In Ukraine, prices for chicken and lard have soared: how much you will have to pay in Ashan, Metro, and Varus.


Prices for chicken and lard have risen in Ukraine
Ukrainian consumers noticed that in March, prices for chicken and lard in supermarkets increased significantly. This information is confirmed by data from the Minfin portal. Chicken and lard are popular products in Ukraine as they are affordable and widely used in cooking. However, in March 2025, prices for these products increased significantly. A large rise in prices for chicken and lard was recorded in the largest supermarkets in the country.
Currently, the average price for chicken thighs is 125.40 UAH per kilogram, while for chicken fillet it is 185.43 UAH per kilogram. Prices for premium category chicken meat have also increased; for example, 'Nasha Ryaba fillet' costs an average of 220.70 UAH per kilogram. As for lard, the price for homemade lard increased from 232.47 UAH to 239.70 UAH per kilogram, while for salted lard it rose from 247.24 UAH to 264.80 UAH per kilogram.
Thus, in March, prices for chicken and lard increased significantly, which will impact the diet and expenses of Ukrainians. It should be noted that the overall price for products in Ukraine has risen by 15% over the year.
