The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine updated information about the losses of Russian occupiers as of the morning of May 23, 2025.
Russia's losses in the war as of May 23, 2025
As of May 23, the Russian Federation has suffered the following losses in the war with Ukraine:
- personnel - approximately 978799 (+1050) people;
- tanks - 10841 (+2) units;
- armored fighting vehicles - 22575 (+1) units;
- artillery systems - 28165 (+43) units;
- MLRS - 1390 (+2) units;
- air defense systems - 1167 (+0) units;
- aircraft - 372 (+0) units;
- helicopters - 336 units;
- operational-tactical drones - 36945 (+148) units;
- cruise missiles - 3197 (+0);
- ships / boats - 28 (+0) units;
- submarines - 1 (+0) unit;
- automotive equipment and tank trucks - 49407 (+139) units;
- special equipment - 3895 (+0).
Enemy fleet activity as of May 23
- In the Black Sea, enemy ships are absent;
- In the Azov Sea, enemy ships are absent;
- In the Mediterranean Sea, there are three enemy ships, one of which is a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to eight missiles.
During the day, 13 vessels passed through the Kerch Strait in the interests of the Russian Federation:
- to the Black Sea - 13 vessels, of which nine continued to move towards the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Azov Sea - five vessels, one of which was moving from the Bosporus Strait.
Currently, the 1185th day of the full-scale war in Ukraine is ongoing.
