WSJ: Putin prepares for a summer of continuous attacks on Ukraine.

The Russian Federation is intensifying military actions in Ukraine, particularly using offensives and bombings after the U.S. halted supply of certain weapons for Ukraine. According to The Wall Street Journal, this step helps President Putin improve his position amid weak Western support for Kyiv.
During a conversation with Trump on Thursday, the Russian president clearly stated his intention to continue the war. 'Our president said that Russia will achieve its goals, which is to eliminate the causes behind the current situation,' said Putin's advisor Yuri Ushakov.
Among the halted supplies from the U.S. government were air defense interceptors, which were crucial for protecting Ukrainian cities from aerial attacks.
Russian Strategies and Trends
Russia has concentrated over 50,000 troops in the Sumy region and has come within 20 kilometers of the regional center. The ratio of forces is about three Russian soldiers to one Ukrainian. During the latest attack on Kyiv, Russia employed drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles, according to the Ukrainian Air Forces.
According to WSJ analysts, territorial capture may no longer be the primary goal for Russia at this stage of the war. Putin is focusing his efforts on wearing down Ukrainian troops and equipment, as well as undermining support both from the population and the West. The head of the 'Come Back Alive' foundation, Taras Chmut, notes: 'We should evaluate not only the area of captured territory but also the losses on both sides.'
Ukraine remains on high alert due to Russia's offensives following the halt of American military equipment supplies, the concentration of a large number of troops at the border, and strategic actions aimed at deepening the crisis. Military facilities as well as civilian areas in Ukraine are under threat, raising alarming concerns for national security.
After the halt of weapon supplies for Ukraine from the U.S., Russia has intensified its military actions in Ukraine and employs various tactics to achieve its goals. This has led to heightened tensions and threats to Ukraine's national security, which remain at some of the highest levels in recent years.Read also
