Increase in heating tariffs: NCRECP made an important decision.

NCRECP has made a decision regarding heating tariffs for Kyiv
The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities has made an important decision regarding heating tariffs for residents of Kyiv. This information is provided by the publication 'Hvylya', referencing 'Interfax-Ukraine'.
NCRECP decided not to change the current tariff for thermal energy of Kyiv's CHPs-5 and CHPs-6 of the municipal enterprise 'Kyivteploenergo'. It will remain at 969.89 UAH/Gcal for household consumers of the capital during the martial law period and for another six months after its termination.
The decision of NCRECP was formalized by a resolution amending the resolution dated December 22, 2021, No. 2728 regarding the establishment of heating tariffs for CHPs-5 and CHPs-6, which was adopted at a meeting held on Tuesday.
Considering that martial law applies for a certain period, namely six months after its termination, heating tariffs for household consumers from both CHPs will automatically increase by 9.3% and will amount to 1,059.99 UAH/Gcal.
Additionally, the commission has also decided to increase thermal energy tariffs from CHPs-5 and CHPs-6 for all categories of consumers, except households, by 5.6%.
The updated tariffs will be:
- For religious organizations - 2075.78 UAH/Gcal
- For budget institutions - 2075.68 UAH/Gcal
- For other categories of consumers - 2076.00 UAH/Gcal.
Earlier we wrote about whether an increase in utility prices for Ukrainians can be expected in April.
According to the decision of NCRECP, heating tariffs for residents of Kyiv will remain unchanged. Thus, household consumers will not have to pay more for thermal energy during the Time of martial law and the next 6 months. However, after this period, they may face a tariff increase of 9.3%. Moreover, heating tariffs will rise for other categories of consumers, except household ones. Religious organizations, budget institutions, and other consumers should prepare for a 5.6% increase. This news affects all Kyivans and will have financial implications for various sectors of the economy.
