Moscow considers the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire
Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow will think about the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire. As reported by 'Glavkom', he said this to CNN.
According to Peskov, Moscow has 'its own position'.
Just recently, Peskov stated that before agreeing to a 30-day ceasefire, the West must stop supplying weapons to Ukraine. In light of Western threats to intensify sanctions, he also emphasized that Moscow is not afraid of this.
International support for Ukraine
The President of France, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the Chancellor of Germany, and the head of the Polish government expressed support for Ukraine, stating their readiness for a 30-day ceasefire starting from May 12. The USA will take the lead in monitoring this process, and in case of Moscow's refusal, proposed to strengthen sanctions.
- President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Ukraine's readiness for peace negotiations after a ceasefire for at least 30 days.
Thus, the international community expressed support for Ukraine in the conflict with Russia and offers a constructive way to resolve the situation in the east of the country.
